initialize strings, variables, array elements, and arrays to free the script from lengthy initializations ( DATA and REAL are executed at compile time only)
INIT is most often used in conjunction with APPENDIX.

the initialization information is embedded in the sourcetext character string:
- vars are separated in sourcetext by "," or CarriageReturnLineFeeds
- all VARs= symbolic names must be
  upper case
  in sourcetext, e.g.
  - sourcetext = "A=3.1 B=1/9, TEXT=hello world, VEC=4 5 6, V(3)=-3"
  - INIT(sourcetext, text, a, b, c, v(3), vec)
  the result is, if written to the clipboard with the name option:
  - WRITE(ClipBoard, Name) a, b, c, text, v(3), vec
  - A=3.1 B=0.1111111111 C=0 text=0 V(3)=-3 VEC(1)=4 VEC(2)=5 VEC(3)=6
  as can be seen this string is inversely suited to be read by the INIT function
- variables that are not found are set to blank or 0 like the variable c above
- expressions for numerical scalars may include the + - * / operators without blanks
- all sequences
